ARIR is affiliated with
the Italian Association of Hospital Pneumologists (Associazione Italiana Pneumologi Ospedalieri AIPO)
AIPO is the first medical association that has approached ARIR. Its members have collaborated since the early years of the two associations in the construction of educational events, in the drafting of scientific articles and texts concerning Physiotherapy and Respiratory Rehabilitation as well as in the organization of events for the population to stimulate knowledge of respiratory diseases and strategies that specialists can implement to control their effects. The partnership between ARIR and AIPO, sealed in 2005, has been driven by very actually current motivations. In particular, the two associations work to ensure the possibility of a targeted and joint intervention between the Respiratory Physiotherapist and the organ specialist, in this case the Pneumologist, in order to reduce disability and the impairment, as well as improving the quality of life of patients with respiratory problems, applying rehabilitative tools of proven efficacy, which make it possible to optimize human and economic resources.
This collaboration allows ARIR members to join AIPO, with an additional cost minimal than the association fee, taking advantage of some benefits useful to their professional growth: Access to the information published on the site AIPO web, www.aiponet.it, and the opportunity to consult the official journal of AIPO The Respiratory System Pathology Review (Rassegna di Patologia dell’Apparato Respiratorio) still allows AIPO-affiliated ARIR members to take advantage of information useful to the continuous critical update of their scientific and clinical knowledge. Dulcis in fundo, being ARIR-AIPO members automatically makes you enrolled in the European Respiratory Society (ERS) allowing you to consult the material available to subscribers on the website www.ersnet.org.
